Permission requests

This page is a forum for requesting permission from copyright holders for their works to be used under a license compatible with Commons. Experienced volunteers will reach out to the copyright holder, request their permission to release the work under a compatible license, and help facilitate the issuance and verification of that release so that the work can be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons and used in Wikimedia projects. To apply to become a volunteer, please apply here.

Before you add a request, consider reaching out to the copyright holder yourself in accordance with the guidance here and here.

To request a media work, please post a message here containing, at the very least:
  • A hyperlink or citation to the work
  • The name of the author, along with their contact information (email)
  • Why the work is useful to include on Commons

Link to the work: https://klimadashboard.org

Name or alias of the author: klimadashboard team

Contact information: team at klimadashboard.org

Reason the work is useful to include on Commons: Up-to-date good-quality charts about climate change are useful. Permission for free use is given but no specific license is named/set. From the site's FAQ (translated) Can graphics and data be reused?
All graphics may be reused, whether for teaching, reporting, or other purposes. Each graphic can be exported as an image or interactive iFrame in the top right corner. Furthermore, we link to the raw dataset for almost all graphics. These datasets may be used to create your own graphics, provided you acknowledge the original source (and comply with the respective regulations of the source).

Name or alias of the author: See authors of the study (and study infos?)

Contact information: Retrieve contact info from the study authors online

Reason the work is useful to include on Commons: Those are CC BY-NC-ND data graphics from the study "The global human day". They are super interesting and would be useful in lots of articles in lots of context. They are charts on the global average day in terms of contemporary human time use. Maybe and hopefully some of these can be licensed under CCBY/CCBYSA.
